Bus info
A bus will be available following the enrichment classes at 4:15 to take the children home. If your child normally qualifies to ride the school bus they will be eligible to ride the after school activity bus. The bus routes will be established after registration.
Classes run ONLY if minimum registration is met
Last day of enrollment is Mar 15th at 10PM, You will be notified by Monday March 18 if a class is not running.

PAMPERED PLANT WITH TINKRWORKS (GRADES 1-3, $ 215)

During Pampered Plant, students will exercise their green thumbs by combining electronics, sensors and Arduino boards (i.e., micro-controllers or mini-computers) to build and code a plant monitoring station that will indicate the happiness (or sadness) of their plant provided by TinkRworks based on how much moisture is recorded. Will their micro controller plant monitor display a smile when it is happy? And frown when sad? Or will it blink school certain colors when it needs attention? Your child will decide! (Min 8/Max 12)


CAMP GAMES WITH HOT SHOT SPORTS (GRADES 2-5, $ 145)

Come join us for an exciting sports experience playing all your favorite Camp Games like Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, and Kickball while also being introduced to innovative games such as Wicket Ball, Unzi-Ball, and Slammer Ball. Players will play multiple games each day with a focus on safety and head protection during game play. This class is an amazing way to get exercise and competition in a genuinely unique and fun focused environment. (Min 6/Max 15)


CREATIVE ART WITH TIFFANY PLAT (GRADES K-5, $ 150)

Join Mrs. Tiff for some creative fun. Throughout the session you will do a variety of different arts and crafts projects such as sand art, mosaics, femo clay, shrinky dinks and more. Each week Mrs. Tiff’s crafts will be new and exciting. (Min 6/Max 14)


FLAG FOOTBALL WITH HP PARK DISTRICT (GRADES 1-5, $ 135)

Players will learn the basic fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, and learn to play with and against teammates in a fun, stress-free environment. The program will be run by a host of Park District Staff Members with a generous staff to student ratio. Flag Football is held outside (weather permitting). (Min 8/Max 20)


iCook – COOKING CLASS (GRADES K-5, $ 165)

iCook is a really fun, hands-on after-school cooking program for children. Our mission is simple: to help teach children to love everything about food - cooking, eating delicious and healthful dishes, learning about different cultures and stories behind the food. We make every experience special because we start with great recipes and fresh ingredients, colorful cooking stations and engaging activities. Also, we keep things food-safe: we are a nut-free establishment. This winter, our chefs-in-training will learn how to make a variety of healthy, delicious and fun recipes including Orange Chocolate Tarts, Zucchini Flat Bread, Avocado Brownies, Asparagus Fries, Veggie Nuggets, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Danish and more. We will travel across the globe to learn about the cuisine and culture of Mexico, Spain, and Asia. Our little chefs will build on their knowledge of cooking safety and the fundamental cooking techniques including peeling, breading, blending, melting, slicing, dicing, chopping and more. (Min 7/Max 20)


SMART START ART WITH ENRICHMENT SOLUTIONS (GRADES K-3, $ 190)

Every child is an artist,"- Pablo Picasso. Discover your creativity and imagination as an artist, developing fine-motor skills, style, and vision as we explore different artistic techniques through a variety of inspiring projects and play fun, exciting games. Sketch and draw, shade and color, cut, glue, fold... create! Learn about great artists, past and present, with the featured Artist of the Week. No experience necessary, open to all students grades K-3! (Min 6/Max 15)


BOOT CAMP WITH PULSE FITNESS (GRADES 1-5, $ 175)

Pulse Youth Bootcamp engages kids, grades 2-5, with equipment such as medicine balls, resistance bands, agility ladders, ropes, bosu balls and more. This fun-filled and structured format employs games and drills that are guaranteed to improve children's overall coordination and cardiovascular conditioning, strength and flexibility, as well as boost their sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork skills that seamlessly transfer into all learning and competitive environments. (Min 8/Max 16)


CHESS WITH CHESS SCHOLARS (GRADES 1-5, $ 125)

Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Also, chess has been proven to enhance children's motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. No previous knowledge of chess is necessary. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will get to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. There will also be a chess competition with prizes at the end of the session! (Min 8/Max 30)


SHERWOOD AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR WITH MR. J. (GRADES 1-5, $ 150)

PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS HAS DIFFERENT MONDAY DATES AND STUDENTS INTERESTED IN ENROLLMENT MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY MR. J FOR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Does your child like to jump, swing and climb on things. If so, then Sherwood American Ninja Warriors is for them. Mr J will create mini obstacles to use their physical, mental and emotional strength to "muscle" though. We will be in the gym, MPR, hallways, IMC and outside! Prerequisite: All participants MUST be pre approved by Mr. J due to safety for all students. (Min 4/Max 10)


COSMIC COMIC WITH COMPUTER EXPLORERS (GRADES 2-5, $ 210)

Dream of being a graphic novelist? Work with a partner to write and design your own comic book tales. Create characters (even scary looking monsters!) for your comic book scenes. Animate your story and see it come to life in a special comic book player. (Min 6/Max 15)


AMAZING MINDS (GRADES K-2, $ 150)

Amazing Minds encourages the intellectual, creative, and social growth of each child. We invite your child to decorate and assemble a rock collection, explore the mummies of Ancient Egypt, and build a tornado in a bottle, for example! Amazing Minds offers interactive topics such as Washington DC, the animal kingdom and save the earth, that will expand your child’s knowledge of the world and reinforce the academic skills taught in elementary school. With a 12:1 student teacher ratio, the classes are taught by instructors trained in implementing the creative and unique Amazing Minds curriculum


IMPROV BY LAUGHING ACADEMY (GRADES K-5, $ 150)

Students will join The Laughing Academy for improv fun learning classic performance games with a twist. We will explore ways to develop a character “on the spot” using different techniques to find our way to new character creations, through character work we learn more about ourselves and others and gain empathy for others. Our focus on teamwork will help us understand the core of saying “yes and” and how it helps us engage in active listening and truly seeing the gifts in others. We will focus on the “justification skills” that help keep some of the most challenging and hysterical improv games directed toward success (and help train the kind of analytical thinking that later helps us in school). And more! (Min 6/Max 20)


AMAZING ART WITH SUNSHINE CRAFTS (GRADES K-5, $ 150)

Amazing Arts combines all your favorite art projects and mixed media in this unique class. Kids will make tye dye shirts (they will wear art smocks for this session), experience pottery painting, paint fired ceramic arts, paint a canvas acrylic painting, do recycled art projects and more. Lessons will include concepts and techniques kids can use for a lifetime and the experience of creating awesome projects will result in great self esteem and a sense of accomplishment! (Min 6/Max 20)


SHERWOOD AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR WITH MR. J. (GRADES 1-5, $ 150)

KARATE WITH FOCUS MARTIAL ARTS (GRADES K-5, $ 150)

The Focus Karate program builds confidence and self-esteem. We teach them to set and achieve their goals while respecting themselves and others. We do so in a safe, structured environment where our trained instructors keep them motivated, fit and wanting more. They will learn self-defense and interpersonal communication skills that will last a lifetime. Our youth get better grades, make more friends, and work towards their black belts. We build their confidence and in the process help to nurture tomorrow’s leaders!Each student will receive a participation medal and a chess keychain. (Min 12/Max 30)
